Dr.Richard Pearson Jon Hosford
Dr. Richard Pearson
Dr. Richard Pearson grew up in Yorkshire, England. He graduated at Cambridge University (MA), and gained his degree in medicine at the University of London.
His post graduate study has included training in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene at the University of Liverpool. He has worked and traveled widely around the world.
He has been interested and active in local and global environmental and social issues since childhood. Reading Al Gore's book “Earth in the Balance” in the early 1990's greatly heightened his concern for the planet. He sees climate change as the greatest challenge of our age, and regards education as a key to changing the attitudes and actions of individuals and society.
Our environment impacts strongly on our quality of life. He considers this a greater measure of health than the much promoted “standard of living”.
He sees our connection with nature, together with biodiversity and sustainable development, as essential for healthy living, a healthy planet, and a healthy future for coming generations.
