INSPIRING Teachers, Schools, Students and Families EMPOWERING them to SEEK SOLUTIONS and to
TAKE ACTION at school, in the home, and in their COMMUNITY
LINKING with INDUSTRY which REWARDS ACTIVITIES and will provide
OPPORTUNITY for BUSINESS to OFFSET their CARBON FOOTPRINT
Our Vision
We see the website becoming a mainstream part of Science Education in Australian Schools
We wish to see it embraced by educational departments and government. It would be helpful to connect with those who already have an ear and an interest in the subject.
It fits well with the science of them living sustainably on this planet
And it provides the Federal Government with an opportunity to fulfill its 2 election promises:
To tackle Climate Change and to oversee an "Education Revolution"
We see
An opportunity for synergy with groups like ourselves who are working to educate the people and to motivate governments.We need Governments to grasp the challenge and overcome the inertia which is perpetuating and excacerbating the current problem.
We want
This crisis to be resolved in the positive
We need
· individuals to change their behaviours and buying habits to begin to press for change.
· the young to insist that the elderly leaders protect their future.
Our view is that
· teaching through schools provides a special opportunity to drive change.
We intend that our education program can maximise that opportunity.
In time our program could easily be taken overseas. We have included a comprehensive section on basic science, as many of our unspecialised educators lack confidence in understanding and teaching our younger children the foundations of what they need to know for later understanding and personal action. It is essential that our Primary teachers are given the confidence to start changing children's behaviours at an impressionable age. Values are established through knowledge and understanding in the ealier years, testing for authenticity during adolescence and adopted when as adults they believe they can be used to guide one's life pathway. If this education is left to the adolescent years it is too late. Parents and schools are Primary educators.
